Movement DNA

YOU ARE WHAT YOU DO, AND YOU DO WHAT YOU TRAIN

Health, capability, functionality, mobility - without these things life is tough, and limited.

All true movement practices - from dance to martial arts to climbing to acrobatics to parkour - share some very simple underlying principles, and this is not mere coincidence.

These principles are what make them work, consistently producing the most capable human movers across the ages.

NO FIXED PATHS

The best movers do not follow fixed paths.

Limit yourself to fixed patterns in training and, sure enough, those patterns will become your limits.

We will explore how and why some movement practices create truly adaptive, dynamic and coordinated individuals while others tend to limit practitioners to fixed patterns of movement that lack the ability to vary and adapt themselves to new challenges

BODY + MIND

Your body is complex beyond your imagining.

Trying to impose your will upon it, to force it to work in mechanical, unnatural ways, will only lead to injury, pain and gradual breakdown. And it will limit your potential.

You must learn to work with your body, to be guided by it, to listen to its signals and to follow its adaptive process. Only then will you find harmony of body and mind, which leads to health, resilience, longevity and, perhaps most important of all, the capability to explore your potential.

This is the way of Movement DNA.
